Robert Petkoff's sonorous, resonant voice is a fitting match for this sweeping yet detailed account of the murder of Henry Glover and its subsequent cover-up. After he was shot by a police officer during the tumultuous aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, Glover's body was then burned nearly beyond identification in a car fire. Author Jared Fishman, then a young prosecutor for the Justice Department, doggedly searched for evidence of the crime and has documented it well in this account. With Petkoff's experienced narration, the story is mesmerizing. He lends compassion and appropriate expression to Fishman's account, including his prosecution of the crime, keeping the listener engaged throughout. Fans of true crime will find this a highly satisfying listen. C.F. Winner of AudioFile Earphones Award © AudioFile 2023, Portland, Maine [Published: JUNE 2023]
