Audiobook veteran Michael Kramer has recorded more than 100 audio titles for trade publishers, and many more for the Library of Congress Talking Books program. Over the years we've enjoyed Michael's titles: NORTH AND SOUTH by John Jakes among a string of other Jakes titles; Donald Westlake's mysteries, including the recent MONEY FOR NOTHING ; and Robert Jordan's fantasy-adventure fiction. Michael also reads with his wife, Jennifer Mendenhall, and their most recent title is Jordan's THE GREAT HUNT . Celebrated in this issue is MURDER ON THE LEVIATHAN by Russian author Boris Akunin—the series has ten titles so there may well be more to come. Character portraits and accents are Michael's forte, and the international cast (Agatha Christie-style) offered great opportunities. Michael's fine performance of LOVE IN THE DRIEST SEASON required some research into the African names. Luckily, he could go right to the source: Author Neely Tucker, a fellow Washingtonian, was helpful and diligent in confirming or correcting his pronunciations.
